Whatsapp has Introduced New Group Video Chat Feature

Facebook-owned messaging app has announced its new feature through which you can make group video as well as voice calls with maximum of 4 people. This feature is available in both Android and iOS smartphones. Whatsapp has committed facebook in conference a few months ago that it would roll it new feature. Whatsapp will also going to introduce group facetime in fall.

Group Video Chat

If you want to start a group video call, initially you have to make video call with only one participant. During video chat, there is an option at top right hand side of your smartphone to “add participant”. Through this option you can make group video call with up to 4 participants. Whatsapp has also announced that calls will be private and encrypted with end-to-end.

According to Whatsapp official blog “Over the last couple years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp. In fact, our users spend over 2 billion minutes on calls per day. We’re excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today.”

Facebook-owned messaging app has more than 1 billion of monthly active users operating this eminent platform. Whatsapp has launched most awaited feature of voice calls in 2016 and added a video call feature after subsequent year (in 2018). Whatsapp has also maintained its network with users in the form of mitigating low data usage option. As you can place a video or voice call with stable and low data connection by going in settings< data and storage< Low data usage option. Video and voice call has been end-to-end encrypted.

Apart from this feature, whatsapp has recently introduces a new feature known as “message labeling feature” for the purpose of safeguarding the interest from spammers to spread fake messages on whatsapp. The “forwarded” label will be added on those messages which are sent by other ones. In short, if you have not composed your own message and directly forwarded the messages then it will label as “forwarded” message.

Facebook has been blamed for disseminating fake news on the platform and had promised that it will depend on other apps like messenger and whatsapp to limit its spread.
